Robert Maxwell was appointed to carry out the refurbishment of a 185 sq/m private terraced house in Clapham, London. A complete strip out of the internal structure was required. The ground floor area was maximised by the addition of a side return extension, for the construction of which London Stock Brick was sourced and carefully colour matched. This provided a continuity between the buildings façade and interior, as well as our new design for the rear garden. A bespoke stainless steel kitchen was installed, finished with 90mm black honed granite worktop, emulating a luxury branded product but at a reduced cost. Custom 2.3 meter high partition doors allowed the enlarged living space to be sub-divided into more intimate units. For the floor treatment Grade A dark stained oak was used, beneath which electric under floor heating ensured comfort and efficiency. Upstairs the roof space was transformed with a mansard loft conversion at the rear, creating an additional bathroom and bedroom with Juliet balcony over looking the garden.
